In response to the national "Work Safety Month" campaign and the theme "Everyone Talks About Safety, Everyone Knows How to Respond — Identifying and Rectifying Risk Hazards," Qianjiang Electric Group held a specialized training session on June 12 to enhance employees' safety skills. The initiative, branded as "Xiaogong Qineng" (Xiaoshan Workers' Skill Empowerment), aims to reinforce the principal responsibility for work safety and strengthen grassroots safety management capabilities. The training was hosted by Yao Dongping, Director of the Group’s Safety and Environmental Protection Office, and attended by 42 participants, including management personnel from various production sectors, workshop directors, team leaders, and safety officers. A special lecture was delivered by Shou Yangjun, an expert from the Xiaoshan District Federation of Trade Unions and the Xiaoshan District Emergency Management Bureau.
During the session, Yao Dongping addressed the current safety management practices within the Group and pointed out existing shortcomings in frontline safety management. He clarified the core objectives of the training, urging participants to solidify their awareness of safety responsibilities, master hazard identification skills, and clearly understand the requirements for territorial management, liability exemption, and accountability. These efforts are aimed at practically enhancing their ability to fulfill safety duties in their respective posts.
Expert Shou Yangjun shared recent cases of major and severe work safety accidents nationwide. Through case analysis and legal comparisons, he interpreted the concept of "dual responsibilities for a single post" (where employees are accountable for both their operational duties and safety responsibilities), detailed the safety duties and accident accountability standards for various positions, and explained the safety philosophy of "putting lives first and people at the center." In light of the regulatory requirements of the newly revised Work Safety Law, he emphasized that all employees must shift their safety mindset—from "I am told to be safe" to "I want to be safe"—to foster a collaborative safety management environment involving everyone.
